Reverend Rudi Gelsey

The Reverend Rudolf C. Gelsey served as minister of the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of the New River Valley from January 1, 1996 through June 30 1999.

A native of Vienna, Austria, Rudi Gelsey came to the United States in 1959 and is a graduate of the University of Chicago Divinity School, Meadville (1962), as well as of the University of Geneva, Switzerland (1948), where he majored in political science.

In some three decades of ministry, he has served Unitarian Universalist congregations in places such as Philadelphia, Detroit, Westchester, N.Y. and Niagara Falls. After his retirement from our pulpit, Rudi and his wife Trudi moved to Williamsburg, VA. Trudi died after a long illness in March 2003, and Rudi has subsequently moved to Colorado to be near one of his sons.
