Budget and Other Issues

Details of the proposed budget were discussed at the Informational Meeting held after the service on May 17. Here is a (password-protected) link to the audio for that discussion. Also included is a discussion about the UUC Building Closure Status. And finally, there was a brief mention made about the new Congregational Public Witness Policy.

The Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act, passed on March 27, 2020, aims to relieve some of the financial consequences of the Covid-19 outbreak. UUC was granted a Payroll Protection Program (PPP) loan through that legislation, which must be used for payroll (75% of loan), mortgage interest, health insurance, and utilities over a two month period. If conditions are met, the loan will be forgiven. President-Elect Wayne Neu has written an explanation for how the PPP loan and other recent events within UUC affect our finances.

Logistics for the Annual Meeting

Quorum and Proxies: According to our Bylaws, for the Annual Congregational Meeting we must have a quorum of 50% of our total membership either attending the meeting (via Zoom) or by proxy. If you are unable to attend via Zoom, please ask a member who can attend to act as your proxy. If they agree, send an e-mail Proxy to Lisa and copy the member. This e-mail will serve as your signature to allow the member holding your proxy to vote on your behalf. (Note: No member can hold more than one proxy.)

The procedures for presentation, comments/questions from members, and voting have not been finalized. When they are, they wil be posted on this page and included in the bi-weekly announcements.
